From April 13th to July 1st, HopeTHRIFT will be allocating 25% of all Wednesday and Thursday sales to support a nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Ukraine.
In any situation of crisis or conflict, persons with disabilities face disproportionate risk of abandonment and violence, and a lack of access to safety, relief, and recovery support. Crucial information on safety and evacuation is often inaccessible, meaning that persons with disabilities are too often left behind and unable to leave the warzone.
Over the next few months, 100% of donated funds will be used directly to assist Ukrainian citizens with intellectual disabilities and their families impacted by war in Ukraine. Our support will help local organizations to buy food, water, medicines, hygiene products, and other goods they need urgently. The money will also be used to pay for personal assistance, and other community-based forms of support to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Thank you for partnering with HopeTHRIFT to make the most of this effort to protect Ukraine’s 260,000 persons with disabilities who risk abandonment, death or a lack of shelter amid Russia’s invasion.
There is no limit to what we can achieve for our foreign neighbors. Our goal is to raise over $40,000 by July 1st, to assist Ukrainians with I/DD in need.
